Once a month or so, I get together with a group of friends in London. We meet at a hotel which has a beautiful bar at the top of the building, with breathtaking views over the city. We meet in the evenings, which means that in the summer - weather permitting! - we often get to witness amazing sunsets. We usually discuss art, and magic, and wonderful things.

The beautiful alchemy of friendship, inspiring conversation, and the shimmering energy of one of the most fabulous cities in the world, sparked the idea for this painting. The fiery sky, the glittering, famous buildings, the balmy air of a warm summer’s evening, the chattering hum of the bar, and a glassful of something delicious and alluring…
